Waste Transfer and Processing Facility
Here at L&C Skip Hire, we have our very own fully licensed construction waste transfer and recovery facility, located close to the River Tees in Middlesbrough. Our facility processes up to 60,000 tonnes of construction and demolition waste every year, which is collected by our vehicles from our customers.
Waste delivered to us
Delivered mixed construction and demolition waste materials, go through the a thorough separation process.
All waste material that is brought to us, is weighed on a weighbridge and is visually inspected against any description given. This needs to be organised and agreed beforehand, and only goes ahead with a waste transfer note prior to being directed into designated tipping areas. Once the material is tipped, large recyclable materials are removed and sorted into different waste streams and sections. Smaller waste material is then loaded into the Waste Screening Plant, which separates the mixed waste material into different waste streams by different forms of machinery or equipemnt, from trommel, shaker, magnets, fans to manual sorting by hand.
During this process, from the mixed waste, we end up with the following materials:
- WoodPaper & Card
- Metal
- UPVC
- Soil
- Hardcore
- Plasterboard
- Non-recyclables suitable for Energy from Waste treatment
All the material that is recovered, is then transferred by ourselves to other licensed facilities for further treatment and to ensure further efficiency, especially when it comes to recycled material.
